Safeguarding contact

Michael Print is the safeguarding contact for this independent tutoring service. Concerns can be sent to michael@compscitutoring.co.uk. Email is not an emergency service: call 999 where someone is in immediate danger.

Professional boundaries

• Lesson and booking communication stays in the shared platform conversation or business email.
• Linked parents can participate in their student's conversation. An adult student must accept the family link first.
• Every booking uses the private CompSciTutoring.co.uk lesson space. Students receive joining details through the platform or business email.
• Students and tutors do not exchange personal social-media accounts or private telephone numbers. Tutor messages containing detected contact details or off-platform links are blocked.
• Parents may attend suitability meetings and can raise concerns at any time.
• Private lesson links and resources must not be shared with unrelated people.

Messaging oversight

Every platform message has a report-concern action. Reports enter a protected review queue with an append-only decision history. Administrators may access the underlying conversation only for a recorded safeguarding, support, security or dispute reason. Hidden messages remain in the audit record rather than being silently altered.

What happens after a report

A safety report is triaged promptly and normally reviewed within one working day. Immediate-danger reports are escalated without waiting for that target. The review may restrict access, hide content, suspend an account, preserve evidence or refer the concern to an appropriate authority. The reporter is told the outcome where it is lawful and safe to do so.

If you think a report was handled incorrectly, or your content or account was restricted incorrectly, reply to the outcome or email michael@compscitutoring.co.uk. Explain what should be reconsidered. The decision will be reviewed afresh as far as practicable and corrected promptly if it was wrong.

Responding to concerns

A disclosure will be listened to without promises of secrecy. Only information needed to protect the child will be recorded and shared with an appropriate parent, safeguarding organisation or authority where necessary. Data-protection law does not prevent proportionate information sharing to protect a child.

Support for students

You do not need to deal with a worrying message or difficult feeling alone. Speak to a trusted adult. You can also contact Childline on 0800 1111, Samaritans on 116 123, or Beat for eating-disorder support. These organisations are independent of CompSciTutoring.co.uk. Call 999 if somebody is in immediate danger.

Checks and evidence

Michael holds an Enhanced DBS certificate. A DBS certificate records the check completed when it was issued and is one part of the service's wider safeguarding practice. Parents may ask to see applicable safeguarding and professional evidence before booking.
